>Giving Back Feels Great!

>Someone recently asked us what the best thing was about being in business for ourselves…hmmmm…so many choices. After a quick thought we exclaimed that being able to help society and be involved with organizations that do good in the world is by far the best thing!

As you may all ready know, Sally Lee, donates 10% of their net profits to three worthwhile organizations each year: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, The American Lung Society as well as Habitat for Humanity. We didn’t just select these organizations at random. “Sally” passed away from Leukemia and “Lee” from Lung Cancer so the work they do are very personal to us. We have personally been financial supporters of Habitat for many years so it was natural to include them as we really believe in the work they do.

David & I recently donated 300 candles to The Moyer Foundation, which was founded by Major League Baseball All-Star pitcher Jamie Moyer and his wife Karen. Funds raised at this latest event benefit the Foundation’s Campaign for Kids, statewide and national campaign to support the expansion of Camp Erin-bereavement camps for children who are grieving the loss of a family member or friend. You might think, “Gee, that’s nice,” but it is so much more. The love that we put into those candles made us feel so good, content, humbled and proud.

Giving to others really pays…in spirit, in love, in joy. The rewards are ten-fold over what it may have cost in money, time or product. We love helping other businesses/people and many don’t understand the generosity – it’s simple – it feeds our spirit to help others. Period.

What things can you do to help someone today?
