Let’s start 2010 with a Bubble Bath! There really is nothing more relaxing and pampering than taking some time for yourself in the bath tub. The cost is minimal, it doesn’t take much time and the rewards are numerous.
Get out the bubbles, oils and scented soaps. This is your time to be just you and you can be as frou-frou as you wish with scented candles, pink fluffy towels, floral perfumes or oils. Choose your favorite music to play on the radio or iPod (hopefully something relaxing), dim the lights and get in the bath to forget all your worries. While you’re in the tub you may wish to put on a deep-conditioning treatment for your hair, and let it work as you relax.
Don’t think about all the things you could be doing instead, don’t think about chores…if you have problems clearing your mind then close your eyes, focus on one positive thought or image until all those other stressful thoughts disappear.
It is very important to turn off your phone, pager or any other technological device that may, and probably will, disturb your time. You deserve this time so if your children and/or husband are home then let them know that you are not to be bothered for a set amount of time…one hour a week, or month, will do wonders for your attitude and make you a better wife and mother.
Once you are feeling relaxed and clean then get out of the bath and dry yourself with the biggest soft towel you have. Apply some nice lotion to your skin and dress in comfy clothes. Flannel pajamas are very nice and cozy after a hot bath. If you have addition time you may wish to paint your nails and toenails or cuddle up under a warm comforter to read quietly for a while.
