>A Jar of Love for Valentine’s Day

Have you ever wanted to make someone a special gift, but didn’t know what to do? How about a Love Jar? This is a quick and simple gift you can make to give to someone special. Here’s how to do it:

Purchase a small decorative jar with a lid. If you already have a canning jar at home, that’s fine, too. Just make sure it’s small in size (about 6 oz or smaller) and has a lid to match.

Decorate the outside of the jar. Customize the jar for the person who will receive it. If she likes flowers, you could attach pressed silk flowers (or dried flowers would be beautiful!) to the outside of the jar. You could even paint a beautiful scenery or animal, using glass paint.

Create love notes. The easiest and quickest way to do this might be to use a computer and print out a few sheets of love notes at a time. You can create a simple 2-column, 10-row table in Word or Publisher and type your love note in each square. Then print out each sheet and cut apart each love note. Fold it twice.

Fill the jar with love. Place each folded love note in the jar. As you do this, think positive, nurturing thoughts about that person. You might even add heart-shaped candy (individually wrapped) or any other small item similar to this. Literally fill the jar with love as you fill it with the love notes.

Give your Love Jar to someone special. Now gift your Love Jar to the person you made it for. Include a card that tells them to pull a note from their Love Jar when they need it.

A Love Jar is such a simple and easy gift to make. But the recipient will love it and cherish it always.
