>{Travel & Leisure} Salt Water Taffy in Bodega Bay

A favorite childhood memory is driving from our Northern California home in Napa to Bodega Bay…the place made famous by Alfred Hitchcock and the movie, The Birds.
Besides the fun we had playing along the sandy shores, we always (I mean ALWAYS) stopped at Patrick's Salt Water Taffy on our way out of town on Highway 1.
The tiny business was directly off the main highway and if you blinked you might of missed the pink and white striped shack. Parking was on the side of the road in the dirt. Even as a child, I found the chippy paint and tiny wood building, well, simply charming.
