A Passion for Sea Glass by C.S. Lambert

C.S. Lambert, resident of Maine, continues her
exploration of sea glass with “A Passion for Sea Glass.”

Some people’s passion for sea glass goes beyond collecting–they use
it to create something of beauty. Carole Lambert, author of Sea Glass
Chronicles
, gives us entree into the studios of those who do everything
from gathering and amassing sea glass mulch for landscaping to designing
stained-sea-glass windows.

Carole has scanned the shores of five continents over two
decades to satisfy her passion for sea glass.  This volume will arouse a renewed sense of
wonder in those who already possess a passion for sea glass and win
legions of new sea-glass devotees.

This book is a treasure for any sea glass lover. The images inside are
beautiful and the ideas are creative and inspiring. I highly recommend
this book for anyone that lives on the shore, or even for those who are
inland but long for the roar of the ocean and the feel of the sand
between their toes. It is a wonderfully readable picture book.”

>{Beach Home Tour} On the Shores of Nantucket Sound

>

Ocean views are combined with natural light and a captivating landscape…just a few of the reasons we love the simplicity of this home from Elle Decor.

"A summer day spent gazing at the ferry gliding back and forth between Cape Cod and Nantucket Island can be hypnotic. Add a good book to read while reclining on a sun-splashed window seat, then cool off with a late-afternoon swim at the beach, and you have the recipe for absolute bliss.

The house where all of this unfolds, on the shore of Nantucket Sound, is named Ferryland—and the idyllic setting justifies the play on words: Who wouldn't want to while away the hours in an entrancing fairyland like this?" ~ Elle Decor

The couple live here with their two sons and they know the area very well since they spent many of their summers in the region. They wanted, "Simple, simple, simple," which explains why the views are the star of this home. Natural light streams through an abundance of windows and clean ocean air relaxes the senses.

>{Coastal Crafts} Beach Towel Bags

>

I am admittedly not a very good seamstress; however this project looks like a manageable beach craft project.

Since the weather isn't quite right for lounging on the beach yet I thought that these beach towel bags would be a great project to work on to have ready for beautiful Spring days on the shore.

Evidently, with very little alteration, these beach bags can be created. Since I can follow directions and sew straight lines, I'm not too afraid of this adorable beach bag project.

Ready, set, sew!

Be not the slave of your own past.
Plunge into the sublime seas, dive deep and swim far,
so you shall come back with self-respect, with new power,
with an advanced experience that shall explain and overlook the old.

>{Travel & Leisure} Salt Water Taffy in Bodega Bay

>

A favorite childhood memory is driving from our Northern California home in Napa to Bodega Bay…the place made famous by Alfred Hitchcock and the movie, The Birds.
Besides the fun we had playing along the sandy shores, we always (I mean ALWAYS) stopped at Patrick's Salt Water Taffy on our way out of town on Highway 1.
The tiny business was directly off the main highway and if you blinked you might of missed the pink and white striped shack. Parking was on the side of the road in the dirt. Even as a child, I found the chippy paint and tiny wood building, well, simply charming.
