>Candles, Leaves, Seashells & Glitter – It Must Be Fall!

>Red and orange leaves dance in the street; the crisp morning air intoxicates the soul as we say goodbye to fond summer memories and hello to the the joys of Fall…

The lovely, Melissa, of The Inspired Room loves Fall about as much as I do and she is celebrating the arrival of this beautiful season by having a Fall Nesting Party…did someone say party? I’m there!  Okay, so I hadn’t decorated for Fall when I heard about the party so I dug into my “Holiday” closet to see what I could whip up.  I ♥LOVE♥ this time of year!!

My autumn box had some garlands, glitter, taper candles and my beloved porcelain pumpkin – plenty of fun stuff to add a bit of Fall to the house. Since I believe we should keep the things we love displayed throughout the year, the seashells stay displayed…period.

The first thing I think of when I decorate for the cooler months is CANDLES….tapers, pillars, tealights, jars, any and all candles! They add fragrance, a warm glow, an elegance to every meal…Gold taper candles replace the navy blue; garlands of crimson & gold leaves are swirled around the crystal candle holder…

Our family’s ceramic Pumpkin has traveled with us since 1989 and once it is pulled from the box the warmth of Fall fills my heart – I think it works well with my seashell mirror tray too! What do you think?

I’ve been fascinated with glittered seashells since seeing Beach House Living’s collection and then read Completely Coastal for a fabulous article about Sparkling Glitter Crafts. I thought I would add a bit of glitz to our Fall display after being inspired by these blogs.

Elmer’s glue was brushed on first then each item sprinkled with my ‘crystal clear’ glitter…wow! I LOVE it and it is sooooo easy! I even painted a few seashells first and then glittered while the paint was wet…no glue necessary.

My favorite bowl of seashells and rocks got a touch of the glitter treatment too…

I think we got a nice start to our Fall decorating…time to get dinner on the stove and enjoy a candlelit dinner with the hubby ;o)
